Headlines:

NMMC Meetings:
Board meeting to be announced.

new memberships will be $10.00 individual and $25.00 family.

Congratulations goes out to the new board members. It will be an exciting year as the focus will be on the club tracks and supporting our fellow members.

Will Schoenith would like to expand our trails at the Elmira Track so more of our young riders will have some safe trails to ride on.

Bill Price will focus on some road runs. Bill and Lorie have purchased road bikes last year and are going to have a house to rent and road tours this summer. We are also hosting a ride for road riders in July! A little different focus for us. Of course, we will be at the local races and probably do a couple of 65 cc exhibition races with our youngest daughter, Cassandra.

Bob Buntin has been an integral part of our club for the last few years and will now step up to the plate as President supporting his son, Connor Buntin as youth director. Bob Buntin has been a valuable member to our club not only providing individual support to our club but also lending the facilities of Polly's Plucking and Planting and computer equipment to our club for the board meetings and newsletter formation.

Philip Daniels has proven to fill his position to it's potential as motocross director not only as moral support, but also in track maintenance and will continue to do so in this position as he was elected a second term this next season.

Rick McNamara will lend his expertise in the area of Secretary/Treasurer with the help of our good friend Shellie. Rick has been the vice president of the club last year and has much experience in running of clubs through his involvent with the USA Ski teams of Boyne Mountain.

Lorie Marvin-Price will continue to update the club website and also help with the newsletter and any other areas as needed.

Many of our members though not listed here help out tremendously with the club, but do not hold voting positions. They are valued members of the club and will eventually look forward to holding a board position in the future.
We need to have the input of all members for the future of our young people to have a safe and fun sport to participate in.

We are so glad you are a part of our club promoting families and motorsports.

The new board members are as follows:

President: Bob Buntin
Vice President: Mike Strojny
Secretary/Treasurer: Rick McNamara
Road Captain: Bill Price
Motorcross Director: Philip Daniels, Sr.
Trail Captain: Will Schoenith
Youth Director: Connnor Buntin

Both the Elmira and Ellsworth tracks have had face lifts!
The club rides were awesome and most everybody loves the track changes. Check them out this spring. Great work club members!
Elmira track has a new safe driveway to inside of track and a whole new section of track.

Most of The meetings are now located at the Crooked River Lodge in Alanson. The date and time will remain the same.
No food is served there, however, you can bring your own food and drinks f you want to. If you want to swim before or after the meeting it is $5.00 a person.

New rules are now posted at the Elmira track: these rules were decided upon by the board members due to the increased turn out at the track to protect the owner and our right to continue to use the track. They are reasonable and use common sense.

We are getting lots of new members! It is great to see the growing 85 cc membership, not to mention the little girls we now have riding! Thanks parents for supporting your kids. In a lifetime when parents are go-go-go, you are taking the time to slow down and enjoy a family sport.

New applications and cards are finished. Thanks, Robert

Dave Fryers is Home! Yippee!

We have some great racers in the NMMC club and also some great partipants and supporters of the club. We look forward to 2005 seaons and pray that it will be a successful and healthy one.

I have got to say you NMMC racers are awesome. I love watching you all at the races.
We look forward to watching our young racers compete . FUN FACT 50% of the racers in the 70-90 cc trail class were girls! The top 3 winner were girls...look out.

Look for some awesome girls to be racing in the 65 cc races this year...look out in the 85 cc class boys..as Milissa Morrow will be competing with you and she kicked some butt last year.

Justin and Steven Halberstadt add the spice to every race!

PJ Daniels has been racing downsate and doing very well>

I am looking forward to seeing some of our new members racing this year. Remember it is not what place you take, but the fact that you took place!

Josh Krueger you and your wife are awesome, Josh, I love the way you groom not only your wife's starting gate, but all the other women too! You really support your wife and you should be commended!

I can go on and on...but please if you would like me to post your results send them to me at mx-mom@voyager.net as I tend to be a little tired at the races lately. Must be old age! I used to write it all down, but now I find myself just trying to keep the energy up repacking the motorhome to leave! Sorry. If someone would like to take over getting the results of our club riders, it would be awesome. Thanks for supporting the club.

Prayer List

Aaron Brandon, Fractured neck last week. He had an operation and will be in a neck brace for awhile. Please pray for him.

Chris Hughey, was injured at Bay Racing Track. He crashed off a jump and 2 bikes landed on him. He suffered a severe head trauma, but is recovering fast at home in the care of his family. Please pray for a complete recovery with no side effects.

Rick McNamara
-Rick had an encounter with a mini-van. The mini-van hit his roadbike and he rinjured his shoulder and thumb and received lots of road rash. We are thankful it wasn't worse.
Rick's surgery was successful and he is now an official member of the Titanium Club. He is on the road to recovery!

Cassie Price-strained ligaments in back causing vertebrae to flatten...no, not from riding...from dance...too many backbends for her rapidly growing legs.

Chad Morehouse- injured knee..I do not know the particulars on this, but heal fast, Chad!

Scott Howard-
11 month old son of Sherry Howard who was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy when he was 4 months. Scott went through some of his tests and they went well..he still has to have his mri, but his vision test turned out well. His Mom is saying that miracles keep happening for them, so everyone's prayers and their faith is working! Keep it up!
Sherry and her family have been wanting to join the club for sometime now, but the health problems have prevented them from coming to the races or meetings to join us. They live in Canada, but would like to come to the Newberry and possibly Onaway races. Sherry will keep me updated on the results and I will post them as soon as I hear the news. She appreciates all the prayers.

Brendan-
Lorie and Bill's great Nephew who
suddenly came down with juvenile diabetis at age 7. They are having a hard time getting his blood sugar regulated.

Shellie's Mom Barb Davis- she is feeling much better. Thanks for your prayers..

Terry John Whitmore
: He Broke his femur a year ago and he had a compound fracture and a rod put in. Unfortunately, Terry had to have another rod put in as his leg as it is not healing correctly, please continue to pray for the infection to clear up and his bone to heal properly. Terry will have another surgery in November of 2005 to take the rod out.

Sarah Whitmore: Sarah is feeling much better. and is back in training. Keep praying for her 100% return to good health as she returns to Pro racing on May 14.2005

Andre Escobar: Is working hard at recovering from a broken neck. The prayers are working! Andre and his family have moved to Florida. Keep him in your prayers.

Keep encouraging the track owners to build safer tracks for us to race on!

I am sure more prayers are needed in our N.M.M.C. membership, please feel free to contact me with these requests.

Please email mx-mom@voyager.net
to add someone to list or to update on injuries.

Quote for the column:

"Let me not pray to be sheltered from dangers, but to be fearless in facing them. Let me not beg for the stilling of my pain, but for the heart to conquer it."
- Rabindranath Tagore

Work Bees
will now be scheduled once a month at the Elmira track. If you would like a discount on your riding at the track a work bee is a great place to start. It costs a lot to keep a track up to shape and we riders really enjoy a nicely groomed track.
You
r help will be appreciated.

No riding during work bees!

Jeff Brown donated one of his trophies and a new plaque was made to present to Daniel.
The presentation is in the works to be scheduled.
Daniel continues to recover from his accident in Newberry. Keep him in your thoughts and prayers.
Thank you, Paul for spearheading this endeavor.
